Project Overview

Co-founding Ad-Roam was a deliberate step toward building experience across the entire engineering lifecycle. It positioned me at the start of the design process, allowing me to define requirements rather than inherit them. I developed outdoor digital display systems that considered structural rigidity, vibration isolation, thermal management, ingress protection, electrical routing, and field-service access. I coordinated with suppliers to align on material choices and fabrication tolerances, and negotiated on cost, tooling availability, and lead time.

I implemented design strategies for maintenance workflow, reducing assembly time and simplifying disassembly paths. Field testing cycles fed back into iterative improvements for cable strain relief, heat dissipation, and enclosure geometry. On the software side, I integrated prompt-engineered generative content pipelines for adaptive advertising and trained layouts to operate within brightness, clarity, and colour-restriction constraints.

As CTO, I balanced technical feasibility against commercial viability, working across mechanical design, electrical packaging, supplier engagement, cost modelling, and installation logistics.

Growth Takeaway

It was a strategic step toward my long-term goal of understanding every stage of the engineering process so that, at the top, I can lead with practical insight rather than assumption.
